Sir John Talboys, Sheriff of Lincolnshire, b abt 1400, of Stallingborough, Lincolnshire, England, d 14 Apr 1367. He md Agnes Cokefield abt 1422, daughter of Sir Roger Cokefield and Cecily Charnells. She was b abt 1404, of Nuthall, Nottinghamshire, England. John Talboys, Esquire, b abt 1425, of Stallingborough, Lincolnshire, England, d bef 14 Apr 1467. He md Katharine Gibthorpe abt 1444, daughter of Sir William Gibthorpe. She was b abt 1428. Margaret Talboys b abt 1446, of Stallingborough, Lincolnshire, England, d bef Jul 1491. She md John Ayscough abt 1462, son of Sir William Ayscough, Knight, Chief Justice of the Common Pleas, and Elizabeth Claythorpe. NOTES: According to The Complete Peerage, the Tailboys/Talboys line descends from Ivo Taillebois through his daughter Beatrice, who married firstly Eldred, and secondly, Ribald. From the former union sprang the line of William of Lancaster, and from the latter union came Ralph Taillebois (son of Ribald and Beatrice) who married Agnes de Brus, progenitor of the Tailboys/Talboys line. This author has yet to uncover the intervening generations between this Ralph and William, shown above. b. Eleanor de Boroughdon, in right of her mother, was baroness Kyme, this honour passing through her mother Elizabeth de Umfreville, dau of Gilbert de Umfreville and Lucy de Kyme. Eleanor married Henry Tailboys, son of William Tailboys by Margaret. Eleanor's father, Gilbert de Boroughdon was Sheriff of Northumberland, 1323-24 and 1339-41. c. Lord Kyme by right of his mother, he was aged 18 in 1369. He was Sheriff of co. Lincoln in 1389. He is mentioned in a deed of Jan 1409/10, along with his sons, Walter, John, and Henry.
