He md [1] Sibyl/Isabel de Bellew abt 1285, daughter of John de Child of Gilbert de Stapleton and Agnes Fitz Alan was: Sir Miles de Stapleton, Knight, b abt 1319, of Ingham and Bedale, Yorkshire, England, d 4 Oct 1364. He md Joan Ingham bef Jul 1351, daughter of Sir Oliver de Ingham, Lord Ingham, and Elizabeth. She was b abt 1324, d bef 12 Dec 1365.
NOTES: a. John de Bellew (or de Bella-Aqua) was summoned to attend the King at Shrewsbury, 28 Jun 1283 by which writ was created an hereditary peerage, and to attend the King wheresoever he should be. He was again summoned 16 Dec 1295 to be at Newcastle with horse and arms the following March. In right of his wife, Laderina de Brus, he held Kentmere in Kendal. He died 1301, his heirs being (1) Nicholas, son of Miles Stapleton, by Sibyl, his eldest daughter, and (2) Joan, his second daughter and wife of Aucher FitzHenry.
