NOTES:
a. He arrived in New England aboard the ship Diligent in 1638, accompanied by his wife and their daughter Mary, settling initially at Hingham. Around 1660, he removed to Bridgewater, where in 1670 he was licensed to keep an ordinary. He is said to have come from the hamlet of Windham, near Hingham in Norfolk, England.
