Herbert de Orreby [a] b abt 1150, of Lincolnshire, England. He md Agnes Fitz William abt 1172, daughter of Simon Fitz William (de Kyme) and Agnes.
Child of Herbert de Orreby and Agnes Fitz William was:
Sir Philip de Orreby [b], Knight, Justiciar of Chester, b abt 1180, of Chester, Cheshire, England, d abt 1230. He md Emma de Coventre abt 1206, daughter of Walter de Coventre. She was b abt 1192, of Coventry, Warwickshire, England. He md Alice de Baumville.
a. He was Constable to Gilbert de Gant, Earl of Lincoln, and to his son-in-law, Simon de St. Liz, Earl of Northampton, after Simon's marriage to the Countess Alice, daughter and heir of Earl Gilbert. It was presumably by this service of constable that he held Orby, of the two Earls successively.
b. He appears to have entered the service of the Earls of Chester at an early age, and to have been in constant attendance upon Earl Ranulph. He was Justiciar of Chester in 1207, if not earlier, until his resignation of that office in 1229. By the Earl he was given Emma de Coventre in marriage, she having been under the Earl's guardianship. He secondly married Alice, elder daughter of Sir Thomas de Baumville, by Agnes, daughter and coheir of Alexander de Storeton, tutor of Earl Ranulph.
