- Benjamin Netherland b bef 28 Sep 1730, St. Peter's Parish, New Kent, VA.
NOTES:
As with many early Virginia families, the details of this family are very sketchy, and much research is needed to substantiate the descendancy as shown here, as well as to verify other children (not shown here) seen ascribed to each generation. Some of the descendants of this line adopted the name Leatherlin, particularly in the case of those descendants of James Netherland, and another variation on the spelling is seen as Netherlin. Sarah, the wife of John Netherland is conjectured to have been surnamed Wade or Hankins, but the only basis for this is the appearance of the names Wade and Hankins among their children and descendants.
