Thomas de Clinton b abt 1208, d bef 12 Jan 1277/78. He md Mazera de Bisey abt 1228, daughter of James de Bisey. She was b abt 1212, of Baddesley, Warwickshire, England. Child of Thomas de Clinton and Mazera de Bisey was: Thomas de Clinton b abt 1231, of Armington and Maxstoke, Warwickshire, England, d bef 1264. He md Maud Bracebridge abt 1262, daughter of Sir Ralph Bracebridge. She was b abt 1245. Sir John de Clinton [a], Lord Clinton, b abt 1258, of Maxstoke, Warwickshire, England, d 1310. He md Ida de Odingsells abt 1290, daughter of Sir William de Odingsells and Ela Fitz Walter. Child of John de Clinton and Margery Corbet was: Ida de Clinton b abt 1332. She md [2] Sir Baldwin de Freville abt 1346, son of Sir Baldwin de Freville and Elizabeth de Montfort. NOTES: a. Second, but first surviving son and heir, he served, or was called upon to serve in the Scottish and French wars. He was summoned to Parliament 6 Feb 1298/99, whereby he is held to have become Lord Clinton, but he was never so summoned again. He appears to have been Knight of the shire for co. Warwick, 1300-1301, and was Constable of Wallingford Castle in 1302. He married Ida, sister and coheir of Edmund de Odingsels, first daughter of William de Odingsels of Maxstoke by Ela, daughter of Walter Fitz Robert, with whom he acquired the Lordship and Castle of Maxstoke, and other considerable possessions. His widow accompanied the Queen Consort to France in 1312-13, and was still living 1 Mar 1321/22. b. He fought at Boroughbridge 16 Mar 1321/22, and was knighted before 1324.
